some people believe in yetis

After consulting with my advisor (may he live forever) I have a due date. It's very, very, very soon. Now I must contact #2, #3 and #4 about scheduling my defense date. I'm not sure which of these prospects is the more alarming, really, the completion or trying to get four academics to agree on a date and time.

Yee-hah! Good for you! Good luck with the herding of academics, the only thing that is possibly more difficult than the herding of cats.

Numbers two, three, and four -- do they constitute some sort of committee that hears your defense?

And: just whom does #2 work for? (Inquiring minds want to know!)

Wishing you all the best with the deal ...

All four folks are professors who, yes, form the committee who read the diss, then get to ask me lots of pointed questions and then (God and Clio willing) sign off on it, so that I can graduate (gasp!) and recome a really truly live Dr. Lemming.

Thanks for the best wishes - at this stage I need as many as I can get!
