I've been tagged by Harriet.

4 jobs you have had in your life: marking down garments at a second hand store, receptionist, psychology experiment subject (was paid very well to drink cocktails and have my brain waves studied) and encyclopedia entry writer

4 movies you could watch over and over: 1776, Chariots of Fire, Gosford Park, Bridget Jones' Diary

4 television shows you love: only four??! ER, Cops, Cold Case Files, MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour

4 places you have lived: Chicago, IL; Midway, OH; Newburyport, MA; suburban Indianapolis

4 places you have been on vacation: Astoria, OR; Oxford, UK; Iowa City, IA; Atlanta, GA

4 websites you visit daily: amazon.com, wikipedia, BBC headlines, my blog roll

4 places you would rather be right now: Outside the stadium at my university throwing my doctoral cap in the air, in front of a blackboard with students eagerly hanging on my every word, eating clam chowder while gazing at the Atlantic Ocean, in bed & asleep

4 bloggers you are tagging: Hmmm. Chesterley, CPF, Steven and Greg. Accepting this tag is to be done on a purely voluntary basis.

Where do I get a job like that??? It is my dream job, getting paid to get drunk.

You dream of forming young heads full of mush into the leaders and educators of tomorrow.

I dream of a job that allows me to come to work drunk everyday and the better I do at the job they might give me a raise.

I have learned that if you lower your expectations in the career field you are later pleasantly surprised.

I will answer your meme at some point.

Does drinking on the job count as getting paid to drink?

Nah, it was really my parents' lives that are more interesting. They're the reason I've done so much traveling. I missed the TV one. The Gilmore Girls, The Daily Show, The Simpsons, House.

I considered the two years I lived in Iowa City back in the late 70s as an important part of my education. My classwork was ok, but the community itself around the university was amazing.

While I was living there, a co-worker of mine at the IMU was on study to analyze the effect of a daily dosage of valium. I'll always remember that silly smile he had for the months he was involved in that study.

Speaking of tagging, I got tagged, and I'm giving you up (or is it "diming you out?"). They took me to Room 101, and I resisted as long as I could, but it was the rats ... I couldn't take the rats. Sniveling and whining, I begged O'Brien, "Do it to Lemming instead!"

If you're still speaking to me, I'll be at the Chestnut Tree Cafe, waiting for the bullet. I love Big Brother.
